Run for Compassion 5K - Treasure Coast - Saturday, January 14, 2012

Registration starts at 7 a.m, Race begins at 8 a.m.

Same day registration is $25.  If you register by Friday, January 13th at 8am then you will get a discounted registration price of $20.

Age categories: 12 & under, 13-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71 and over

Medals will be awarded for male and female, first, second, and third place in each age group.  Trophies will be awarded for overall and masters (40 and over) for male and female.  Prizes will be awarded for the team with the most participants as well as the team that raises the most in sponsorships.

Former Compassion sponsored child from Uganda, Olive Akullo, will be joining the days events.  All proceeds from this event will be given to Compassion International for the purchase and distribution of Water of Life filters to families who do not have access to clean drinking water. Diarrhea caused by drinking contaminated water is one of the single greatest killers of children in the developing world. These filters, which cost $55, can provide safe drinking water for a child and their entire family for a lifetime. They contain no moving or electronic parts and can provide over a million gallons of clean drinking water.
