Caleb and Jacob have been riding with Spirit Horse for over 5 years.  Both boys have sensory integration issues and the therapeutic riding has helped tremendously over the years in helping them to process various sensory inputs.  They learn to process auditory, visual, vestibular, proprioceptive, and basic senses such as smell and touch, while grooming and riding their horses.  Jacob, who has a speech delay, has improved greatly in articulation skills while receiving the vestibular input when riding his horse.  Caleb, who also has a primary immune deficiency disease, has shown great improvement in his overall endurance and strength for activity, which is limited due to his immune dysfunction.  SpiritHorse has been so beneficial to the boys in overcoming their challenges and in giving the boys much self esteem and confidence that they can achieve great heights with just the right bit of therapeutic love, and that is what SpiritHorse gives to them.  We hope you will consider giving to SpiritHorse to assist them with their unique and wonderful programs to help many other children and adults.

Jacob and Caleb are now taking the next step in making great strides…they are riding in the SpiritHorse Ride for Strides 2008 Achiever’s Ride!  The SpiritHorse Ride for Strides is a ride-a-thon, which works just like a walk-a-thon, but on horses!  Riders will come from all around to raise money for SpiritHorse Therapeutic Center by riding to earn money at the LBJ Grasslands in Decatur, TX on October 11, 2008!  Please visit www.rideforstrides.org for more information on this event!
