Two years ago Camp Earth started as 8 friends with a dream to bike across the United States. In 2011 they accomplished that goal. Now Camp Earth is back and bigger and better.
In 2011, Camp Earth rode from New Jersey to California in order to raise awareness of Huntington’s Disease. The 50 Day, 3,800 mile trek inspired the donation of nearly $10,000 to the Huntington Disease Society of America. As it turns out the United States is only the 3rd largest country to go travel across. That inspired Camp Earth to make the return of the century.
In 2013, Camp Earth has grown! Currently there are three different projects. All with the same goal CURE HUNTINGTON'S DISEASE
Camp Earth II: Camp Earth: Scandinavia. Camp Earth heads across the pond to Europe. Starting in Reykjavik the Camp Earth crew will cycle around the entire island of Iceland. After enjoying two weeks of fish, puffins, and some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, they will head to Oslo, Norway. From there, Camp Earth will pedal though Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and end in the Netherlands. On June 8th, Camp Earth will depart Amsterdam and back to America.
Camp Earth III: Camp Earth and the Great Lakes. Camp Earth is very excited to add a second ride in 2013. Five seniors at Lake Park High School are riding around all five Great Lakes. This journey will cover thousands of miles in America and Canada alike. They are sure to battle their fair share of hills, wind, and rain.
Everyone is excited to begin their respective projects.

By donating on this page, you are supporting the Huntington’s Disease Society of America: Great Lakes Chapter. Our goal is to help support those who affected with HD and eventually help find a cure to this devastating disease
Huntington's Disease: a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which there is, at present, no cure and only one FDA-approved treatment (Xenazine) for a symptom of HD.. HD slowly diminishes the affected individual's ability to walk, talk and reason. Eventually, the person with HD becomes totally dependent upon others for his or her care. Huntington's Disease profoundly affects the lives of entire families -- emotionally, socially and economically.
Thank you for your support. Spread the word. Camp Earth is back!
