Canine Castaways - Doggy Dollar Donation Drive

We have had a rough summer as far as vet expenses go. We normally average $1500 to $2500 a month for routine veterinary treatment, but we were forced to spend a total of $12,193.85 (an average of $4000 a month) for vet care over the summer. Out of that amount, $6,208.44 was for "out of the ordinary" expenses such as... surgery to remove a growth within Brittany's ear canal that had kept her ear infected for months; emergency surgery to repair herniated intestines on Tango after he was attacked by a larger dog; Winnie's hospitalization for pneumonia and removal of cherry eye; Dugan's surgery to remove abscessed salivary glands; Frito's emergency care due to a spinal problem along with heartworm complications and evaluation by cardiologist; and Emma's heartworm complications after treatment. These types of things are not normally a problem, but to have six major incidents so close in time is very difficult. We are in desperate need of your help to recover these costs.
This is our plan and we hope you will help us with it. Have you ever heard "The power of one can make a difference"? Canine Castaways hopes to prove that phrase accurate. If a friend came to you and asked if you could "spare a dollar" for them, would you? We know that many people have been affected by the economy but if we could get 5,000 "Friends" to donate $1.00 each, these vet expenses would be nearly covered! That's less than the cost of a cup of coffee!! Never under estimate what your $1 can help accomplish!!
