SOGA General 2009 Georgia

Capitol2 Coast's Fundraising Page

Thank you for visiting our 20th Annual Capitol 2 Coast Bike Ride fundraising page!

The History:  Every Spring for the past twenty years we have spent 3 days riding our bicycles from Atlanta to the coast (Savannah or Charleston).  Over the years we've covered over 6,000 miles, dodged no less than 100 dogs, cheated death by pulpwood truck inumerable times and in recent years helped what we think is a great cause; supporting the Special Olympics Georgia  (SOGA) cycling program by raising almost $50,000.00.

This Years Event:  The ride departs on Friday April 17th.  Instead of heading East, this year we're headed West and keeping it to two days, 200 miles.  We hit the road from Aurora Coffee in Virginia Highlands  at 10:00 am, picking up the Silver Comet Trail until it hits the Alabama Border.  Day two is a race back to Atlanta.  Last one sitting at Moe's and Joe's pays the tab.  What happens in between is strictly between the riders; What Happens in Cedartown, Stays in Cedartown!

Our Cause:  Cycling is the most expensive SOGA sport and we need to help keep it going.  We appreciate any amount you can contribute.  In addition to cycling, your support which goes to help 22,769 athletes with intellectual disabilities in Special Olympics Georgia participate in 23 sports in the year-round program.

What You Can Do: Money and/or muscle.  First the money.  Anything, and we mean anything, you can contribute via sponsorship on this webpage is greatly appreciated.  Donate over $100 and we will personally deliver any mail you have headed to Cedartown! All sponsorships are greatly needed and appreciated and 100% of all donations go directly to SOGA.  All administrative costs for the ride are paid for out of the "some day we will get new countertops" reserve fund.  Now the muscle.  Ride with us, if not this year then next.  The rider group is comprised of usually 8-10 riders of a very wide variety of skill and experience level, from dear old brother Bob who had not ridden since the Carter Administration, to Charles Potts whose resting heart rate is 2.

Thanks for all of your support!
