IMERMAN ANGELS

Imerman Angels 2009 Chicago Marathon Chicago,  Illinois
Training buddies: Christian Chenoweth

Caralynn & Christian Chenoweth's Fundraising Page

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page and your interest in learning more about our charity marathon run for Imerman Angels.

By sponsoring us to run the Chicago Marathon on October 11, 2009, you are contributing to an extraordinary organization dedicated to connecting cancer fighters and cancer survivors.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and completely secure.  It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts.

We have seen so many people touched by Imerman Angel's efforts - so many cancer fighters who have been strengthened by the personalized one-on-one support of their survivor "angel".

Our goal is to raise a total of $2620 or $100 for each mile of the 26.2 miles we will be running.  Of course, any donation amount will help us in reaching our goal and will assist in enabling more cancer fighters to be touched by IA's mission.

We have been training since May, and we are happy to report that we have successfully made it through a series of long runs and our legs are in good condition.  We are very excited that the marathon is just around the corner, so please consider donating today!

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might also want to donate!  Please let us know if you have any questions about Imerman Angels and its mission - or about our charity running.

UPDATE - October 4
Well, it’s a week away… Next Sunday, Christian and I will be running the Chicago Marathon to raise money for Imerman Angels. Our fundraising goal was to raise $2620 – $100 for every one of the 26.2 miles that we will run. Today, we met our goal!! So…we decided to raise it. We’re aiming to raise another $1000 over these next six days leading up to marathon day!

For those of you in Chicago, we’d love to see you out on race day, so here are a few suggestions on where you might watch the race…

River North… Mile 3/5K Mark – Illinois & LaSalle – Depending on how long it takes us to get through the start line (probably around 20-30min), we should be at Mile 3 around 8:20-8:30am

Lincoln Park… Mile 9.5 – Armitage & Sedgwick – Christian ~9:20am, Caralynn ~9:35am

Old Town… Mile 10.5 – North & Wells – Christian ~9:30am, Caralynn ~9:45am

River North… Mile (almost) 12 – Illinois & Wells – Christian ~9:40am, Caralynn ~10am

West Loop… Mile 13.1/Half-Marathon Mark – Adams & Jefferson – Christian ~9:50am, Caralynn ~10:10am

Greek Town… Mile 16/16.5 (Blue Line – UIC-Halsted Stop) – Walk 2 blocks north on Morgan to Adams to view us at Mile 16 in Greektown, or use the Halsted Street ext to Mile 16.5 – Christian ~10:15am, Caralynn ~10:40am

Pilsen… Mile 19 (Pink Line – 18th Street Stop) – Walk one block east to Ashland to watch us at Mile 19 – Christian ~10:40am, Caralynn ~11:10am

Chinatown… Mile 20.5 (Orange Line – Halsted Stop)Christian ~10:50am, Caralynn ~11:25am

FINISH – Christian ~11:45-12noon, Caralynn ~12:25-12:40pm

Come meet us as we celebrate after the finish at the Imerman Angels tent in Charity Village… Charity Village is located in Hutchinson Field at Balbo between Lake Shore Drive and Columbus. We recommend public transportation – taking the green or orange line to the Roosevelt stop on the el. The Imerman Angels tent is located on the Northeast side – 5th tent in.

UPDATE - September 21
We are less than $800 away from our goal of $2620, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that we'll surpass it.  Christian and I have been amazed and humbled by such overwhelming support from our family and friends.

This past weekend, we ran our longest training run - 20 miles!  It's fantastic to hit that training peak, which means that our distances decrease from now until the marathon on October 11th.

It was a GORGEOUS run...  We were in San Francisco for a friend's wedding, so it was a special adventure.  We ran from the AT&T Ballpark, under the Bay Bridge, past the Ferry Building, through Fisherman's Wharf, around Fort Mason, across Crissy Field, all the way to Fort Point, then wrapped around and up the steep climb to the Golden Gate Bridge.  We ran the 1.8 miles across bridge...and then all the way back to the Ballpark.

Not only was it a fabulous run, we both felt good about our times, and we weren't in too much pain.  We are definitely ready for 26.2!  We'll continue to keep you posted...
