Online registeration will close on Wednesday September 19, 2012 at midnight. Same day registration will be available on the day of the event.
There will be food, useful information, entertainment, children activities and more. Remember you do not have to walk or run in order to attend. Come out and cheer on others who are participating.

What is Sickle Cell?
Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a group of inherited red blood cell disorders. In SCD, the red blood cells become hard and sticky and look like a C-shaped farm tool called a “sickle”. Sickle cells can get stuck in small blood vessels and block the flow of blood and oxygen to organs in the body. These blockages cause repeated episodes of severe pain, organ damage, serious infections, or even stroke.It is estimated that SCD affects 90,000 to 100,000 people in the United States, mainly Blacks or African Americans (CDC.gov).
All proceeds will go to The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America Philadelphia/Delaware Valley Chapter to help continue services and programs for newborns, adolescence, adults and families affected by sickle cell disease and trait.
