Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts.

For those unfamiliar with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, TSC is a genetic disorder that causes benign (non-cancerous) tumors to grow on vital organs.  Johanna was diagnosed with TSC at about five months of age.  She was born with a small tuber in her heart and has three tubers in her brain.  Right now we have noticed about four of the ash leaf spots and very little other skin involvement. When she was still in Korea they believe that she had three seizures in one day but we have not had any issues since then and she is no longer on her seizure medication. While today things are going great, tomorrow everything could always change. Johanna has an 80% chance to develop autism though she shows no signs yet.  We do not know, nor can anyone tell us, how Johanna will be afflicted in the future. To follow Johanna's story you can always check in at Faith, Hope and Love - our blog about adopting, raising twins and their lives

I am participating this year in the Greater St. Louis/Southern Illinois Step Forward To Cure TSC Walkathon...

Could you use a date night or would you love to do something a little different with the whole family?  If you are in the area, please be sure join us for a very unique, "Step Forward to Cure TSC Walk" on Saturday evening, May 30, 2009.  This year, they are debuting a "luminary balloon walk" in scenic Cliff Cave Park in Oakville, MO.  You may want to enjoy a picnic dinner and beverages with your family and/or friends as soon as you finish registering.  Registration starts @ 5:30pm and the walk will begin around 7pm.  You provide your food and beverages and we will provide a luminary balloon for each attendee.  We can only imagine what all of those lighted balloons will look like!

Everyone is looking forward to spending some quality time making new friends and connecting with old friends and family that support this organization and understand why it's so important that a cure is found for this disease that affects us so personally and profoundly.

By donating to the TS Alliance, you are helping fund research that is searching a cure for TSC.  At this time, there are medications that can help control the symptoms associated; however, research is beginning to show promising signs of a cure.

Many thanks for all your support, and please forward this to anyone who you think might want to join us and/or donate too!
