Last year I ran my first marathon (at age 58). It was a wonderful experience to join with 17 other runners from our church to drive together a thousand mile and then run 26.2 together (although we didn't exactly stay together). What we did accomplish together was raising about $20,000.00 for World Vision. WV works to tackle the root causes of poverty by working with children, families, and their communities to provide things like clean water, health care, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities.

This year we are doing it again. I plan to run the world famous NYC Marathon with 4 or 5 others on November 1 and a few Gracepoint runners will run the Philadelphia Marathon three weeks later.
