HSHA is responsible for taking care of many unwanted or neglected animals in our community.  They are better able to care for each animal through the generous donations from people like you.  HSHA is open to new ideas to give our animals the best life possible during the stressful stay shelter life offers.  One newer program is the "Quiet Kennel" program with our dogs located in the A kennels. 

The A team at HSHA consists of dedicated volunteers who regularly come out and work with some of our most stressed dogs on a daily basis.  Staff and volunteers work together to get these dogs out twice a day for potty breaks in hopes they will able to be housebroken easier for their future adopters.  They are walked daily and worked with proper leash walking and basic commands.  They are given stuffed Kongs and heavy duty chew toys to relieve some of their stress and boredom in the kennels.
