Hello friends!

 

Let me introduce you to Mary Kate (MK).  She is a 7 year-old little girl full of life and tons of energy.  MK holds a very special place in my heart (along with her big sister, Caroline) because, her mother, Jayme and I have been the best of friends since grade school.  MK was born with the corpus collosum missing in her brain.  Due to this, MK will likely need assistance for the rest of her life.  However, due to the phenomenal therapists, doctors, nurses and her family, MK has already far exceeded the expectations than we initially believed to ever be possible.  For example, MK participated in her first Special Olympics bowling tournament last Fall and won 1st Place in her division.  She is an amazing little girl that doesn't take 'no' for an answer. 

 

On January 14, 2012, I will be taking part in the Polar Plunge and jumping into freezing water to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics.  Please consider donating to this cause.  Your donation is 100% tax deductible.  Like so many other Special Olympic athletes, MK depends on your contribution.
