This was the 3rd year that I chained myself to a dog house for the 7th annual Dogs Deserve Better Chain-Off Event, from June 28 extended to July 12. It's a dramatic way to bring attention to this cause because what happens to MILLIONS OF DOGS EVERY DAY IS TRAGIC. They endure horrible suffering from freezing cold, extreme heat, starvation, no water, poor vet care - the list goes on and on. MANY will continue to die a slow and painful death from the effects caused by being continually chained or penned 24/7. MORE TRAGEDY WILL STRIKE WHEN PEOPLE, MANY OF THEM CHILDREN, BECOME MAIMED, SOMETIMES KILLED BY DOGS KEPT IN CONSTANT CONFINEMENT outside or inside. And it is because this makes some dogs so aggressive and territorial that they will attack. Can you imagine anyone, a little child experiencing something so awful? Please get involved and help put an end to all of this!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. You can still donate, please help support my fundraising efforts or your favorite Chain-Off team. 27 states, Canada & Romania participated this year with over 100 Chainees.
Thank you to everyone who supported me! Being chained for 24 hours is hard, roasting in the heat, trapped. I challenge anyone to try it for awhile this summer, then again in winter when it's minus below freezing, sleeting and snowing. You'd get a small taste of how this feels for countless dogs every single day and night. Go online and type "chaining dogs" , there are other organizations who are behind this and give the facts on why it is so harmful. And because it is, more than 100 communities in more than 30 states have passed laws that regulate the practice of tethering animals. More states are pushing for new laws for their communities too.
You can remain anonymous & contact Dogs Deserve Better about dogs living this way.

The dog pictured was adopted from a shelter, they said she was a stray. For all I know she could have been chained. She is deeply missed. RIP Bidee (short for Abide).
