Carolyn Jobin's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
This is Cosmo -- an amazing survivor. Without an animal shelter Cosmo would not be alive. At the age of 6 months he was hit by a car. His owners left him in the street to die because they didn't want to take care of an injured cat. They decided to let him die in the street because "cats don't feel pain". A good samaritan brought him to a shelter vet where they amputated his front leg and wired the fractures in his jaw. Today Cosmo is a spirited, and loving cat who is a precious family member to my daughter.
I volunteer at the MN Valley Humane Society (MVHS) in Burnsville and we need a new facility. MVHS has been called the "little shelter that could." We keep trying! We are an independent shelter and have struggled with an overcrowded, deteriorating facility and a budget run on a shoestring. MVHS has found homes for more than 45,000 animals and we have one of the highest adoption rates in the country. The Burnsville City Council has shut down our plans to get the building we needed by August (didn't want to change the zoning). We now need to look for a new building since we have to move by May. Therefore I will continue to do more fundraising. I cannot thank you enough for the donations you have given for the animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, hamsters). Please consider any donation you can give us.
You can donate online or just stop by my office and drop off your donation. I will get it to the shelter. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
