Carrie Manitopyes's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts.
Hello, my name is Carrie Manitopyes and I am from the Muskowekwan First Nation, Saskatachewan, Canada. I have run four marathons: Vancouver, Red Deer, New York City and the Paris Marathon and three ultra-marathons (Blackfoot Ultra 50 km trail race twice and the Lost Soul Ultra as a pacer). My next marathon on October 25, 2009 is the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC, where I will run on behalf of Team Running Strong, a charity that supports Native American Youth.
Billy Mills has always been an inspirational role model to Aboriginal people on both sides of the border, particularly for those who are runners. I have watched his 1964 Olympic Gold win over and over again. His determination and power of belief is extraordinary! The more I researched Billy Mills and his charity “Team Running Strong”, the more I wanted to help him give back to the next generation of Native American youth.
My goal is to raise $1000 for this very worthy charity and I hope you will help me in my fundraising efforts.
100% of your donation will go to the “Team Running Strong” Charity and does not fund any portion of my race entry, training, travel and expenses for the event.
Sincerely and heartfelt thanks,
Carrie Manitopyes
