THIRD ANNUAL PINE STREET INN KNIT-A-THON!!!!

Since 1984, Pine Street has created more than 550 units of permanent affordable housing for formerly homeless men and women.  Let's help the nearly 7,000 individuals and families currently homeless in Boston.  Your support to help fundraise is so critical in the fight to end homelessness so please consider getting involved today. The squares we knit (or crochet) now will be assembled into blankets on November 8th and presented to the tenants of the PINE STREET INN residences.  The money raised will support Pine Street’s Permanent Supportive Housing Program.

It will be my second time participating in the Pine Street Inn Knit-a-Thon.  This time I am on the team for the South End Knitters.  Each blanket will use 35 squares.  Each square is 9x9 inches, and we will assemble the blankets at the knit-a thon.  I've finished about 20.  I'd like to get to 30 by the event date.

I live close to the Inn and I love to knit so this has been the perfect project for me.

The South End Knitters is group of knitters that live/meet to knit in the South End of Boston. We have been trying to work on squares on Sunday afternoons.  As a group we habe completed dozens of squares and raised nearly $1000!
