I Run because…I Can. I Run to raise awareness for Huntington’s Disease, a relentlessly progressive degenerative brain disease with effects more devastating the Parkinson's and Alzheimer's combined; I Run to raise funds to support the pioneering basic and clinical research taking place right here in Houston; I Run for the Hope that ours is the last generation that HD will ravage.

HD is a hereditary killer, a genetic disease and a true “family disease”: affected, at-risk and gene-negative family members are all profoundly impacted. HD causes the neurons in the brain to irreversibly waste away and victims experience severe emotional disturbances and rapid mental deterioration, further complicated by a slow physical wasting away. At present time there is no cure, but there is Hope!
