Please join us on Sunday, September 26,2010 for the 12th Annual Walk to Cure Cancer. The five mile walk-a-thon raises funds to benefit cancer research, equipment, facilities and world-renowned medical professionals at the UMass Memorial Cancer Center of Excellence. Now in its 12th year, over 50,000 walkers have joined the Walk to Cure Cancer and raised over $6 million.

MY PERSONAL STORY:

As most of you know this is a cause that is near and dear to me. First off I lost my father 8 years ago to cancer, way to young. Also I am a registered nurse and have been working on an oncology floor for 7 years and love it. The courage and bravery I see everyday in these patients is amazing. Then in January of 2006 I was diagnosed with Lymphoma. I have been disease free, healthy and in remission since March of 2006. I have even been so blessed that I welcomed the birth of my first child this past March, Olivia Jane! There have been SO manys others close to me affected by this disease in one way or another, including my good friend and team member.  She is also currently disease free, healthy and a survivor!  This is our teams 4th year doing the walk and look forward to many, many more!
