Dock On The Bay - Craighill Front Lighthouse
Historical Place Preservation, Inc. (HPP) is working hard to restore this lighthouse in the Chesapeake Bay near Baltimore, MD in order to allow public visits and maritime educational programs for children. In order to achieve our goals, a dock must be built so that supplies and contractors can access the lighthouse, as you can see from the photo. Off-shore lighthouses present quite a bit of technical difficulty in this regard!
We have a quote in hand from a marine engineering firm and contractor who will build the dock. All we need is the money to get it started!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. Donations are also tax deductible as HPP is a 501(c)3 non-profit.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! We're entering a whole new era in lighthouse accessibility and efforts as more and more are transferred into private ownership. We successfully applied for and received this light in the pilot program of the National Historic Lighthouse Preservation Act and don't want to let the program down or the lighthouse!
