Dear Friends,
I am buzzing off my hair in an event to raise money for children and their families fighting pediatric cancer. It's called the One Mission Kid's Cancer Buzz-Off and will be held on Sunday, June 3, at Gillette Stadium. All proceeds will benefit Children's Hospital Boston and the vital programs and services they provide to help kids beat cancer.
I have chosen to buzz off my hair because the toll pediatric cancer takes on patients and their families is profound. Children must endure painful treatments and lengthy hospital stays while their families cope with unimaginable stress, anxiety, and financial strain. Your generous support will assist One Mission in funding vital programs and services that bring help, hope, care and support to pediatric cancer patients and their families.
I have 2 children of my own and I don't know what I would do if I was told on of them had cancer. It must be so hard for these families to deal with all that the diagnosis does to their lifes. Some have to travel far from home to get the best care and this has a dramatic effect on every aspect of life. If I could help one family with some of the stress of a cancer diagnosis shaving my head to raise money is the least I can do. My thoughts are my hair will grow back the same way it has for years and some of these children lose their hair from the treatments and wish their hair would grow back. I thank you all in advance for your donating.
Donating through this website is simple, fast, and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Love Always & Forever,
Cathie
