Friends & Family,
On March 20, I will be participating in Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Work Day program. This is a special day not only because we are raising money and building a home for a hard-working, low-income family in our region, it is also a Bachelorette Build for Melissa Bortugno! She is getting married May 8, 2010 and is excited that to be doing what she can to help those in need.
Decent, affordable housing is scarce in Somerset and Hunterdon counties, forcing many low-income families to live in overcrowded, unsafe conditions. The Women Build program challenges women to build a better future for the children of central New Jersey by addressing the problem of substandard housing. By participating in Women Build, I will be giving other women and their families a “hand up” by helping them to build a home of their own.
With your help, I hope to make a real difference in the lives of a local family. The Women Build Team’s goal is $100,000. Any pledge amount you can offer will be greatly appreciated!
