In memory of: Colin Mackay

Chad Stevens's Fundraising Page

December 18, 2009

Thank you for visiting the Colin Mackay Memorial Fund West I-10 Volunteer Fire Department.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

On December 11, 2009 I received the news that my brother-in-law Jamieson Mackay's father, Colin Mackay had passed away. He was 61. Of course, Colin was also "Grampy" to my beautiful nieces and my heart was broken for the entire Mackay family. Jamieson is more than a brother-in-law to me, he is like another brother. I have known him now for almost 20 years and he is truly one of my best friends.

His Dad was an outstanding person that welcomed me and my family into their lives from the moment I met him. Colin loved life, he loved his family and had a special place in his heart for Maisie and Mallorie. He was also a proud volunteer firefighter at the West I-10 Volunteer Fire Department. My prayers continue to go out to everyone in his family.

About 15 weeks ago I began a journey that I never thought I would ever do. Inspired by my brother, Tobey, I decided I would do a triathlon. Since taking on this challenge I have logged over 300 miles of swimming, cycling and running, but I have a long way to go. As a tribute to Colin Mackay and volunteer firefighters in general, I have decided that I will race the Gateway to the Bay Triathlon in Kemah, TX on April 10, 2010 for the Colin Mackay Memorial Fund and the West I-10 Volunteer Fire Department.

My goal is to raise $10 a day for the 112 days until the race for the memorial fund, $1,120.

God Bless,

Chad
