Chad, Margaret and Elias Benaka's Fundraising Page
Please sponsor Team Benaka – Chad, Elias, and Margaret – for the 23rd Annual Cape Walk to End Homelessness on September 21. The five- mile walk benefits the nonprofit Margaret works for, Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC).
In the past we have walked in honor of a child around Elias’s age who is homeless. This year, while looking through the One for One client profiles it struck us that many people where looking for children or someone more “sympathetic” to walk in honor of. As we were looking at the One for One stories, we decided to walk in honor of someone who, like Margaret’s father, was a veteran. So this year we are walking for a 47-year-old man, U.S. veteran, now suffering from mental health issues and staying at the NOAH Shelter. HAC is helping him work with Veteran’s Services to get mental health intervention and find permanent housing.
The work HAC does in the community is something we strongly support. Please consider sponsoring us – any amount would be appreciated. Our personal goal is to raise $2,500 for the Walk (last year we raised over $2,000).
