Chandru's 2010 Courage Classic Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page for the Mary Bridge Children's Foundation. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts.
Any contribution that you can make is graciously accepted. Due to your generous support, I was able to raise over $1,800 for the Mary Bridge Foundation last year. The children thank you!! Here is a link to pictures and movies from my Courage Classic rides from 2009, 2008 and 2007.
My father passed away last year, he was 90 years old. He started out his career in the 1930's importing the first bicycles into India from England. Bicycles were in his blood. I am doing this ride each year in memory of him. He was very proud of my bicyling lifestyle. I have felt a certain freedom from riding my bike ever since I was a small kid. I still feel this today. My Dad was especially proud of my participation in the Courage Classic.
Each year, I prepare for the Courage Classic by participating in the Bike to Work Month in both King and Snohomish Counties. The 42 mile round trip begins in Wallingford and ends north of Lynnwood. I have been doing this ride 3 to 4 times a week. Again this year, I received a certificate and from the Cascade Bicycle Club for finishing in 3rd position in all of Seattle for "most miles ridden by a Solo Rider". This year I am ahead of last year's miles significantly. I have ridden 2,300 miles to work so far in 2010.
Oxy Gene (as seen in the photo at left) is the public presence for the Washington State Public Transit System. He is a Super Hero who promotes reducing our carbon footprint and advocates healthy living. His father is 72 years old and he participates in the Courage Classic as well, helping needy kids in our state. He posed with me especially for this picture as he noticed my Courage Classic jersey.
Many thanks for your support for Courage Classic Bike Tour 2010 -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
