My Third Marathon for the Promise!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
This is my third year running the marathon for the Pittsburgh Promise! I believe in sending Pittsburgh's kids to college and I've put my money where my mouth is, as well as hitting the pavement (literally) to spread the word and help raise money for this fabulous cause!
Last year, I dedicated miles of my run to those who donated and I plan on doing that again this year! I'm running the half marathon this year because as a full time seminary student, a mom of three and the director of a youth mentoring program, I just don't have the time it takes to train for a full marathon and still pass all my classes. I'm also coming off of my injury from last year and need to take this season a little easy.
SO! I will be dedicating my last 1.2 miles of this run in memory of my Uncle David who went home to Christ this fall. That leaves 12 miles to dedicate to friends and family and a $500 dollar goal.
That's $42/mile, people! I'll dedicate half miles at a rate of $25/half mile, so if you "buy" a full mile of my run, you're getting a deal! Just remember that while you can have my thoughts and prayers during that mile, you don't get the calorie burn- I'm keeping that all to myself!
The miles are first come, first served and once they are gone, I'll start dedicating my 5K miles for the season- including the Riverview 5K and the Pittsburgh Turkey Trot.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
