Hello to everyone, and thank you for visiting my Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary(MEEI) fund rasing site. I am running with TEAM MEEI in the 2009 Boston Marathon to help raise money for the Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary.  In April of 2006 I was diagnosed with stage 4 tonsil cancer and the doctor I had at the time wanted to do some very invasive surgery in conjunction with Chemothearpy and Radiation. My wife knew a doctor at the South Shore Hospital and  he suggested I get a second opinion at MEEI and arranged a meeting. I met with Dr. Derrick Lin at MEEI who had seen this type of cancer and knew it had been successfully treated with just Radiation and Chemothearpy. Meeting Dr. Lin and learning about his approach was the best thing I had ever done. I was scared to death at the thought of the invasive surgery never mind just learning I had cancer. I went with Dr. Lin's approach and had some minor surgery at Mass Eye and Ear which was followed by Chemotherapy and Radiation at Mass General Hospital.  Today thanks to their efforts, skill and knowledge I am fine and back to my old self.  I don't know if I would be running the Marathon had I not gone to MEEI.  I love the people I have met at both hospitals, MEEI and MGH, and I hope I can raise some money to keep the learning and curing going. I AM DEEPLY INDEBTED TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE HELPED ME ALONG THE WAY AND I THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART !!!!!!
