Dear Friends, 

I hope your holidays are going well. As it turns out mine have been lovely so far! I just got back from two and a half weeks in Australia where the sun was shining and the weather was warm and short sleeves worthy. I spent Thanksgiving at a an Aussie BBQ - not quite turkey but it was delicious and there was plenty of food. So why am I telling you all of this in an email that is clearly about fund raising for YMCA Camp Hi-Rock? 

They are making me go into the cold water again! As I mentioned above, I have just spent over half a month in the southern hemisphere. My body cannot handle the icy depths of Plantain Pond in January. The good thing is that I am not going to have to take the dip until we raise $4000. 

So, if you are as sadistic as I think you are, and would love nothing more than to watch me suffer, you should help force my subtropical body into the lake. It is fairly easy to do, you can make a contribution on this site or call, email or mail camp your donation.

All of the funds raised will go directly to the YMCA Camp Hi-Rock Strong Kids Campaign. This fund helps to bolster our financial assistance for children who would not otherwise be able to experience camp. It is terribly important to provide this opportunity to children who have the most need to get outside, socialize with people from other walks of life, make better friends and build their self esteem. At Hi-rock, we do not turn anyone away for an inability to pay, which allows us to run camp FOR ALL.
