Some of you may remember Al Drake as the quirky MIT electrical engineering professor who taugh a few of our LFM courses, but beyond the quirk, he was a great mentor and advisor for myself and countless other students (at MIT and beyond).
I had planned to run the Leukemia Society marathon in memory of Al, who passed away in 2005, but I broke my ankle a few months ago, so there will be no marathon for me this year. Instead I'm running MIT's
Anderson 's race next weekend (April 22); it's a much shorter 5K race, but the goal is the same - to fight Leukemia.
The race is student organized, so 100% of the proceeds will go to local medical research non-profit.
I hope you will join me in supporting this race, and thanks in advance for your generosity.
