It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that Dr Check Lao passed away.   He left us peacefully and quickly surrounded by his family, who had just spent a most enjoyable Thanksgiving with him.  To the end, he was himself, laughing and joking, and as always the life of the party.  We will miss him deeply; our lives won’t be the same without him beside us. 

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Check’s name to one of the following charities; the American Lung Society and/or the National Kidney Foundation.  We’ve chosen these carefully.  As you likely know, Check’s oldest son Paul, who sadly passed in 2002, was a noted lung specialist, while Check himself lived a happy 16 years with a kidney donated by his daughter Cynthia.
