Joseph Bryan Hensley, Kathleen Vlodek-Hensley and Hector Victoria are planning a Bicycling trip from St Augustine, FL to Central Park in New York City on August 12th, 2009. That's more than 1300 miles in one month! They are riding to raise money and awareness for Huntington's Disease, through the Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA).
Hector's dad had the disease and Hector is gene positive. When Bryan suggested the idea of riding for HD to Hector, he lit up. There is a quote by Gandhi that has always been close to his heart; "We must be the change we wish to see." They saw this as a way to be part of a change in a good friend's life. They are holding a benefit concert in their hometown of Chattanooga, TN to kick-off their trip.
Even the smallest donation will help fund the research necessary to cure this devastating disease. In addition, alerting your friends and colleagues to this effort ensures we get the word out. Knowlege is power! Join in our journey to fight HD. We hope to hear from you soon!
