On July 4, Justin and I will be participating in Chain Off 2010.  So many of you will be celebrating your independence while Justin and I will be chained to a dog house like so many dogs across the country who spend their days and nights chained or penned 24/7.  They deserve better.

It will be hot, humid, and boring but we are doing this so that we can appreciate the pain that these poor dogs go through each and every day. 

We will not be the only ones who will be chained.  Dog lovers across the country will be chaining themselves in their yards, parks, and public places to bring awareness to the inhumane treatment of so many dogs.

We will be chained in our own yard for 12 hours or more.  That is very little time compared to so many dogs who spend hours, days, and seasons chained, scared, bored and sometimes starved.  Dogs are pack animals and want to be with their people - not tied up outside with no interaction. 

As many of you know, we are supporters of Dogs Deserve Better and adopted Sweet Pea through this rescue organization.  Please help us raise money so that other dogs will have a chance at living indoors with a bed, toys, treats, and LOTS of love!
