On November 22nd 65 of us girls will run 10km through the streets of Addis Ababa in memory of our friend Frehiwot Wondye who took her own life in July.

We all live in the slums of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Most of us have lost one or both parents to AIDS.

We belong to an organisation called Children's Heaven that helps us very much.

Children's Heaven gives us a monthly food parcel, school uniforms, other items for school and things that make our lives much better.

We can also drop into the Children's Heaven center where we do lots of different things like get help with homework, learn the bible, dance, make music, learn crafts, play sports or just enjoy hanging out in a safe place with our friends!

Living in the slums is difficult - especially for teenage girls like us. The Children's Heaven staff are always there to chat to us if we need help. They also visit us in our homes and give us lots of love and encouragement.

We've called our race 'The Frehiwot Memorial Run' in memory of our friend who took her own life in July.

We are all very sad that we've lost a friend in this way but we want to do something to help stop other girls doing the same thing.

Please help us raise as much money as possible so that Children's Heaven can help lots more girls like us.
