November 1st:  Well, the race is over and I am in recovery mode at the moment. It was a very challenging experience, but well worth it. I am grateful to have finished and Liam was running right along with me, I am certain of that. Thanks to my friend Paul and Matt, Tina, Joe & Donna for criss-crossing NYC to support me at miles 7, 13, 20 and of course at the finish line - you can't imagine what a boost it was to hear them cheering. Thanks again for all of your support  - we did a good thing here.

10/30/09  We just exceeded the $5,000 mark in the most fitting way possible. Thanks Maria & Ryan.

10/29/09  Well, we had a great fundraising day yesterday - I appreciate the generosity and support of my family, friends, clients and vendors. With just 4 days left, we are tantalizingly close to achieving our fundraising goal. Thanks also for the kind, supportive emails  (there are a number of runners among the donors and I value your advice). If we can raise about $100 a day for the next 4 days, we should hit the target by Sunday, so spread the word. 

In truth, this is not about the total amount of money we raise, or the time it takes to complete the race - those are just numbers. This is all about joining forces to contribute to a common goal - in this case a great cause - thanks for being a part of it. I know Liam's family is grateful, and so am I.

10/26/09 About a week to go, and the donations are continuing to come in at a strong pace - thanks to everyone for helping us exceed $3,000 so far. Last week I received a Nike dry-fit running shirt from the folks at Caringbridge to wear in the marathon, so I am all set - just hoping for a breeze at our backs and no rain.

10/19/09  Two weeks until race day, and we are well on our way to achieving our fundraising target - (thanks to my daughter Bri for putting us over the 50% mark !). Looking forward to a good week's training, with weekend runs in Boston on Saturday and Washington, DC on Sunday with my son Matt (see if you can keep up with the old man...)

10/15/09 As we approach the halfway mark in our fundraising efforts, I want to thank all of you who have donated so far. It's heartwarming to witness your generosity and support.
