I am excited to see that I have exceeded my goal of raising $1000 for this year's ride - thanks to all who have donated so far! The Ride For Kids, sponsored by Honda Motorcycles, raised $4.1 million for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation in 2005 with 36 organized charity rides across the country. The Philadelphia area ride alone generated over $67,000 with nearly 500 motorcycle riders nearly filling a section of the parking lot at Longwood Gardens!.

Being a part of the 2005 Ride for Kids was very satisfying for me. It was the first ever local Ride for Kids, and it turned out to be the most attended, largest donation generating "first ever" local ride in the 20 year history of the Ride for Kids. We're trying to make 2006 even bigger. With PR help from Honda Motorcylces and all local motorcycle dealers we are shooting to double our attendance to 1000 riders!

Last year I put out a simple message for the donation of pocket change and placed a collection container on my desk at StarCite raising close to $500 which I gratefully took with me to the ride event. This year technology will let the PBTF recieve funds even before the event occurs! If you would like to donate to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation you can do so through this page by credit card. Donating through this site enables the funds get to the PBTF now, while the Philadelphia Area Ride For Kids on September 17, 2006 gets the fundraising credit. Everybody wins with this arrangement. I ride to support the kids affected (some of which were present last year, some even rode in side-car equipped motorcycles) and to "give a little back", being greatful for all that I have in a healthy family.
