Are you like me? You know our public schools are struggling to appropriately engage students; it scares you; and, you don't know what to do about it?
As many of you know, Vicky and I co-founded Project ECHO in 1996 to provide hands-on learning experiences to entrepreneurial minded youth in New York City. We were inspired by my father's own personal story: My father struggled to stay interested and engaged in traditional academic curriculum yet when placed in entrepreneurial settings, he excelled. Vicky and I wanted to re-create this haven for other like-minded high school students using the day-to-day management of on-campus businesses as a vehicle for growth. Today, Project ECHO has found its permanent roots in Los Angeles where we have incredible partnership with the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Vicky and I believe that Project ECHO is impacting lives and transforming the future for local high school kids. As a non-profit community of entrepreneurs, teachers, MBA students and supporters that provides hands-on entrepreneurial experiences to high school students in Greater Los Angeles with a solid track record of:
- helping students develop new student-run ventures and grow existing on-campus businesses
- offering unique entrepreneurial programming for students who struggle in a conventional classroom setting
- helping students discover their entrepreneurial instincts to create their own future
Help me raise $15,000 for the students of Project ECHO by February 28th!
Your donation provides students:
- Hands-on experience managing and operating an on-campus business or launching a new company
- Project ECHO Business Plan Curriculum for business fundamentals and unlimited access to Project ECHO eLearning System
- 20-24 hours (min) of in-classroom mentor visits over minimum of 12 weeks by UCLA Anderson MBA students
- Ability to present at the business plan Competition held at UCLA Anderson School of Management
- Chance to win cash prizes to launch a new venture or expand an existing on campus business
- Present business plan and interact with judging panel of real world entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders
