What I love about our God is that He so easily overcomes the impossible.

I will be running the 2011 New York City Marathon less than 6 months after delivering my son via emergency cesearean, which not only seems like an foolish attempt, but a potentially dangerous one as well. And yet every time I fret over my training plans and the severe lack of time, God always seems to say to my heart

 "Trust me."

I have no idea how this will turn out in the end, but it is my continual prayer that my running this marathon would bring Him glory, regardless of what it takes to get me to the finish line. And one of the ways I am choosing to honor Him through this is by raising funds and awareness for the Children's Heart Project.

The Children's Heart Project is a program run by Samaritan's Purse that brings in children from third world countries with congenital heart disease to North America where they receive life-saving open heart surgeries that they could never have access to in their own countries. I have always loved this project, but now as a mother, I ache for these little ones with broken hearts, as well as for their parents who are often turned down again and again in their journey to help their child. I cannot imagine the feeling of sorrow they have holding their tiny children with their hurting hearts, and being completely powerless to help them.

It costs approximately $2,200 in travel expenses to bring child and his parents to North America for surgery. Would you help me give a child a chance at life he may not otherwise have? We may not be able to change the whole world, but we can help change the whole world of one child. Let's show them that we DO have a God who so easily overcomes the seemingly impossible!
