I'm stepping out again this year to help find a cure for Scleroderma and I'm asking for your support!
In 2000, my son, Ian, was diagnosed with Scleroderma at the age of 27, and, three years later he made a difficult decision to leave his family and friends, and, move to a warmer climate to alleviate some of his symptoms. We all miss him and admire his zest for life & outrageous sense of humor!
Scleroderma is an autoimmune disease of the connective tissue characterized by fibrotic, degenerative, and inflammatory chanages in skin, blood vessels, skeletal muscles, and serious damage to internal organs. Presently, the cause is not known and there is no cure.
On Sunday, September 18th, I will be participating in a 5K walk in Topsfield, MA to help raise money and awareness for a cause so dear to my heart. Please consider walking with our team; or just show up, hang back and cheer us on while having a snack and hot/cold drink! And, did I tell you there will be refreshments before and after the walk with an opportunity to win some fun prizes?
It does not get easier each year to ask for donations, but, I am committed to help raise money to find a cure. I know many folks are struggling during this tough economy. I sincerely appreciate however you choose to support us -- making a donation, walking with us on September 18th or passing this information on to others.
As the Walk approaches, I am inspired by all of you that have given in so many ways in the past. I could not take this journey without you!!
Love,
Chris
