People keep asking me why I do something as silly as the polar plunge. Well let me tell you, after I have attending so many of the Special Olympics events and watched the athletes, who are just happy to be able to compete and to realize what a difference that we can make in their lives I feel that it is an honor to be able to raise money for Special Olympics. Sometimes I think so many of us take for granted what we have and fail to see the needs of others.
SO GUESS WHAT, THE CRESTWOOD COPSICLES ARE BACK IN ACTION AND ARE READY TO BE "FREEZIN FOR A REASON"
Everybody remembers how cold and windy it was last year, but that is not stopping us. On March 3, 2012 we are coming back for the third year in a row to help support the Special Olympics. Our team holds year round events to support the Special Olympics, however the Polar Plunge is our most successful event. We are asking everyone for their continued support. Remember every donation makes a difference, no matter how small. To make a donation only takes a few minutes, its quick and easy and your donation is tax deductible.
Thank you for visiting my Polar Plunge fundraising page. I’m collecting donations from family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to support the nearly 21,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and more than 6,000 Young Athletes ages 2-7 of Special Olympics Illinois! Your donations will help provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in year-round sports training and competition.
To reward your generosity, I’m going to join more than 5,700 people statewide who will voluntarily jump into freezing cold water in the middle of winter as we take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunges for Special Olympics Illinois. I guess you could say that I’m “Freezin’ for a Reason”!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to the LETR Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois.
Many thanks for your support – and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
