As most of you know my dad recently passed away of Lewy Body Dementia. This is a degenerative disease with no known cause that removes certain neurons in the brain that produce two important neurotransmitters, chemicals that are essential messengers between brain cells.
My dad was one of the healthiest guys I knew. He had no sign of illness, didn't take pills, physically active, mentally active, social, etc. Nothing in his lifestyle would have lead to this. So in my research and my opinion this had everything to do with environmental factors (pesticides, chemicals in food, water, personal care and household products) that can strip out nureotransmitters that existed and operated perfectly in a brain prior to illness. It not that we are using these products but most importantly we are supporting the production of these chemicals that affect our entire eco-system.
Caregivers and patients feel so alone through this illness with very little resources available to them; including doctors that don't know a lot about this illness. I'd hate to see another family go through this and feel that same despair we felt.
In honor of my dad I will be fundraising for him through my own sales of Beautycounter. I will be donating 50% of my own commissions to Lewy Body Dementia Association at the beginning of January.
