Each year we give thanks for our friends who stand with us in the fight against lupus. This year is no exception.

Lupus is complex, unpredictable and life changing. It affects everyone—women, men and children. How you live and cope with lupus largely depends on the support you have. Lupus International remains your hub for information and support.

Please help us honor the courage and perseverance of lupus survivors and to remember those we have lost. It is their battle that reminds us of why we all work so hard to make a difference.

Lupus is rarely alone and we want to be there with you every step of the way. As more people are diagnosed, the need for our services exponentially grows.

Today we ask you to give the gift of hope. Hope for a new future, hope for new treatments and hope for a cure. If each person whose life is even remotely touched by this disease contributes to our cause a cure WOULD be found in our lifetime. It is within reach; we need your help to get there.

Your 100% tax deductable donation can make a difference, and here is how...

· $25,000 will provide matching funds for a

much needed Rheumatology Fellow who will specialize in lupus and it many complexities

· $10,000 will fund an educational symposium

for medical professionals, patients and their families at teaching and research centers, where attendees have an opportunity to ask prominent professionals questions

· $5,000 will enhance support group activities

for countless lupus patients and their caring others. Groups provide an outlet to learn about the impact of this disease, tips for successful living and gain support

· $2,500 will produce live interactive “Ask

the Doctor” web casts with world renowned medical professionals for lupus patients and their loved ones who may not otherwise

have access to doctors of this stature

· $1,500 will add new educational booklets

to the library addressing one of the many intricacies of having lupus and overlay diseases written in depth by the top

specialist in the world in their respective field

· $1,000 will provide outreach efforts to the medical community to educate them on the various symptoms of lupus, diagnosis of the disease and new treatment modalities

· $500 will continue to enhance our website

so everyone can have up to date information readily available

· $250 to distribute educational literature

during community or employer sponsored

health and wellness fairs that are held daily throughout the year

· $100 will create tailored information

packets for newly diagnosed lupus patients

· $50 will increase number of hotlines for patients, their loved ones, or anyone who needs sensitive answers to their questions

about lupus and related diseases

· $30 will give Lupus Line, LI’s quarterly magazine, to a house bound lupus patient. For some this is their sole connection to

learning about and understanding

this disease

Any amount will help to fund research projects, which cover the gamut from developing tests for earlier and better diagnosis, to new ideas for treatments to major research projects seeking a cure.
