Jon and I are registered to run the Chicago Marathon in October - to benefit World Vision.  We will be running with a team from Orchard Hill Church in Cedar Falls.

World Vision works to tackle the root causes of poverty by working with children, families, and their communities to provide things like clean water, health care, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities.

When I went to Sierra Leone, Africa - I saw World Vision trucks all around - I heard that they dug wells and provided food when there was none.

I believe God wants me to run this marathon to experience real perserverence - to feel a bit uncomfortable for a while - while also, hopefully, helping my friends in Africa.
