Christine Godbout's Fundraising Page
Hello!
My name is Christine Godbout and I am excited to be running the Boston Marathon in support of Hospitality Homes on April 20, 2009.
Running began as a hobby, but over the past several years, it has become a true passion of mine. In November 2008 I ran the New York Marathon with the goal of enjoying my first marathon experience and also qualifying for the Boston Marathon. I achieved both and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue Hospitality Homes' Boston Marathon tradition for a second year.
The chance to run and raise funds for Hospitality Homes is truly an honor. For the past two and a half years I have served as Hospitality Homes' Program Manager and I have had the privilege of speaking with hundreds of patients, family members and friends who struggle to find affordable lodging when they travel to Boston for medical care. Just a few weeks ago, I spoke with an elderly guest from Maine who had resorted to sleeping in her car on a bitter, cold January night because she could no longer afford the cost of a hotel. She needed to stay with her husband as he received treatment for a chronic illness. Stories like these touch me every week and I strongly feel that no one should have to add the financial burden of lodging to their worries when they are putting forth so much energy to care for their loved ones.
I am setting out to raise $10,000 for Hospitality Homes. I hope you will help me spread the word and support our goal so that patients and their loved ones can have a safe, affordable place to stay when they need it most.
If you would like to make a donation you can do so in one of two ways:
