In Love of Maureen Kelly
|
My sister and best friend, Maureen Kelly, took her own life on September 7, 2003. Maureen was a dear sister to Jane, Frederic & me, a loving daughter to my parents, Dee & Fred, a wonderful wife to Mark and the best mother in the word to Robert & Carolyn. She was a warm, loving, caring, incredible woman who touched so many people's lives. With her gone many suicide survivors of Maureen, like myself, have change and adjusted to a different life without her. It will never be 100% again, but we all are making our life TODAY important and not worring about TOMORROW.
I feel her spirit and love with me always and I do this walk every year to keep her love alive. This is my seventh year walking, my first 5K Walk was in October 2004. The Maureen Kelly team is filled with lots of love and support towards Samaritans.
Maureen struggled with Depression along with about ~70% of the people in the world. Samaritans helps anyone struggling with depression, bi-polar or even having a difficult time in your life along with folks like me being a sucide survivor. I see the struggles I went through loosing Maureen, I just can not image the pain she was feeling to take her own life.
I am thankful to Samaritans for how they helped me and want to see them help more people in the world. Samaritans have reached out to over 100,000 people this past year. Please see more about Samaritans @ http://www.samaritansofboston.org/.
Please join me in the walk this year or make a pledge to the Samaritans for the Maureen's Team! Many thanks for your support!
Love Christine
