Webster' Dad!
Thank you for taking the time to consider donating to the Walk for the Animals. While the Humane Society of Broward County continues to be a leader in the country in animal welfare these are certainly tough times. We have all been impacted by the many storms...this has been very costly for your local Humane Society. Relief efforts were provided after Katrina, Rita and Wilma. In addition, we were basically shut down for 16 days! Considering the cost of relief efforts, builiding repairs (which all of us know our deductables ensured nothing was covered) and the loss of income...have left the HSBC with a loss of almost $200,000! I share this only because I hope you will take my request for a gift very seriously this year! I try very hard not to ask all of you on a personal level...but we cannot forget the animals and the many programs and services provided!
Webster, as you know, is my cat that I adopted 4 years ago...this is his before picture! Just to remind everyone I adopted him after he was beaten with a PVC pipe due to a domestic violence situation. He was the victim! (Tragically, his Mom would not press charges against his Dad)
Many of you know him as the Devil cat...I know you can see why after seeing this photo!
The Humane Society opens its door daily to ensure these victims have a safe place to go for refuge!
While we look professional and successful let me remind you our average gift is $25.00! I am asking you to making an above average gift and help me reach my $5,000 goal!
Again, I am mindful of not abusing my relationships but would appreciate any support you could give; it has been a tough year!
