Thanks for checking out my donation page. For the third consecutive year, I am participating in the Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Virginia. This great organization uses sports to help change society's perception and treatment of individuals with disabilities while empowering them to do great things and rise above the challenges presented to them. As a first year special education teacher, this cause means even more to me than ever before. Individuals with intellectual and cognitive disabilities have stigmas attached to them that by no means describe who they are and they are capable of. Join me in helping support these individuals through Special Olympics Virginia!
Thanks to the generosity of my family and friends, over $300 was donated to Special Olympics Virginia last year. Let's do it again - remember, every dollar helps and even "small" donations can mean big changes in someone's life! As a way to say thanks for your generosity, I made a snow angel in a t-shirt and shorts in 2010, and last year I dove head first into the 34 degree water at Virginia Beach. This year I promise to do the same as my unconventional way of saying thanks!
