A few years ago, I became aware of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa through Bono, the lead singer of the rock band U2. We live in world where most people live on less than $1 a day. We have the technology to eradicate world hunger, and help with the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The question is, do we have the will? 

My church, Faith Church, in Dyer, Indiana, has adopted a village in Rwanda, called Karaba. I'm training to run a half-marathon on August 10, with Team World Vision, to raise awareness and support. World Vision works to tackle the root causes of poverty by working with children, families, and their communities to provide things like: clean water, health care, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities.
