Nichols's Comeback Tour!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!!
On January 9, 2005, I will be running my first half-marathon in over a year at the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in Phoenix, AZ through the Phoenix Children's Hospital "Miracles in Motion" training program.
My dear friend, Dixie Love, works at PCH and is training for her first ever half-marathon. I am eager to support her on this great endeavor and to help raise money for a wonderful cause and for the children at PCH!
This is a big challenge for me, since I've taken several months off from running. My last great accomplishment was completing the 2002 New York City Marathon. I'd like to run another full marathon in 2005, so this will be a great milestone for me in achieving another incredible goal.
The last few weeks will be dedicated to continuing to get fit for the big race and raising money for the kids. I have lost over 10 pounds since I've been training again, and I'm feeling great!! All of the money raised by "Miracles in Motion" will go directly to patient care. Each participant is required to raise $1,500. So far, I have risen over $600. (Thanks to everyone who has donated!!) I would greatly appreciate any help in reaching this goal. Donating through this site is simple, fast, and secure, and of course it's tax deductible.
I am dedicating this race in honor of my late aunt, Sally Davenport, who recently reminded me of the values and importance of charity and helping others in need. She was one of the most kind-hearted, loving, and charitable people I've ever known.
If you'd like to issue a check for your donation, you can send it to the below address. Please reference my name in the MEMO section, so that I receive credit towards my fundraising goals. Checks can be made out to:
