Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

This is not only the inaugural ride for Chapter IX of the Police Unity Tour, but it is also my first ride in the Police Unity Tour. The Police Unity Tour consists of Law Enforcement Officers and Survivors of Fallen Officers riding bicycles from great distances to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C. The Tour arrives on May 12th and concludes with a moving ceremony and presentation of a check to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund and museum.
My ride with Chapter IX will start on May 9th in Valley Forge, PA and make stops in New Castle, DE, Aberdeen, MD, and Columbia, MD. Over FOUR days we will travel 250 MILES. The Unity tour simply promotes a unified effort from LEO’s to honor our fallen comrades. The motto of the Police Unity Tour is “WE RIDE FOR THOSE WHO DIED”
I will be remembering all of the Law Enforcement Officials that died in 2011 and all the years prior. But most of all I will be dedicating my ride to three Baltimore City Police Officers that made the ultimate sacrifice: Officer William H. Torbit Jr.: End of Watch 1/9/2011, Officer Ira N. Weiner: End of Watch 9/21/1992 and Officer Lorenzo Gray: End of Watch 7/26/1972. Officer Torbit’s name will be engraved in those hallowed walls this year and 2012 will be the 20th and 40th anniversaries of the deaths of Officers Weiner and Gray. I did not personally know Officers Torbit or Gray but Officer Weiner was a friend and co-worker to me. I will not ever forget these three great men nor any of the almost 20,000 names engraved in the walls of the National Law Enforcement Memorial.
I ask you to please remember these heroes and donate to my ride in the Police Unity Tour. The easiest way for you to donate is through this link, however you may make donations directly to the Police Unity Tour Chapter IX site or by mailing them to my work address: Officer Charles Connolly
