My name is Sammy and I'm only 5 months old. I was found as a stray in the city of Salinas and taken to the shelter where my soon to be foster mom saw me and knew she had to help. You see even though I hurt so much when she talked to me all I did was purr and ask her to pet me. She says I have great spirit and deserve a better life than I've had so far.

I have a condition called Entropion where my lower eyelids turn inward causing my eyelashes and hair to rub on my eyes, it is very painful. I was probably born with this condition and so I've had to live with it for as long as I can remember. I do have some vision but it's hard to tell how much due to the inflamation and infection this has caused.

The good news is that I can have surgery to fix my eyes and save what vision I do have.
I want nothing more than to be pain free and find a forever home so I can experience joy and unconditional love. Please help me realize my dream. His vision was severely damaged by the months he spent in his condition, but I'm hopeful it will improve with time. He will get his stitches out in a little over a week.
