DISABLED SPORTS EASTERN SIERRA

Sierra Cycle Challenge 2011

Sierra Cycle Challenge 2011

Saturday, July 24th~Monday, July 26th 2010

This is a ride like no other! Outdoor challenges change lives, and Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra is doing just that through their year-round program of winter and summer sports for athletes with physical and cognitive disabilities. The freedom and exhilaration that is felt after skiing the top of a mountain, cycling over a rugged pass or catching a Sierra trout is unrivaled!

I need your help! The funds that I raise for The Sierra Cycle Challenge go directly toward supporting students with individualized instruction and adaptive equipment, so they can enjoy the same sports that you do. Your donations will allow an autistic student to take her first runs at Mammoth Mountain or a Wounded Warrior to remember that life is still worth living. I have been part of DSES for 7 Years.  My sons Tyler and Sean have been participating in this program and the growth and confidence they have gained from their particpation over the years has been incredible.   This last year, they both partcipated in the June Lake Triathlon and the Winter Biathlon.   They both love the competition and the success the have gain from their participation.  Tyler wants to compete in the Paralympics in the coming years.  My years of vounteer with DSES has given me a new perspective on the abilities and not the disabilities of someone who has disabilities.  This program helps change lives.  Help me by making a donation to this wonderful fundraiser.

My Goal: Raise $5,000 Please help me reach my goal with a tax-deductible donation to Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra. I’ll be climbing my way through the Eastern Sierra for three days and thinking gratefully of all my supporters along the way!

Day One: Mammoth Lakes to Benton Hot Springs: 50 miles, 1,500 ft. elevation gain!
Day Two: Benton Hot Springs to Grant Lake:50miles, 3,600 ft. elevation gain!

Day Three: Grant Lake to Mammoth Lakes: 35.6 miles, 2,900 ft. elevation gain!
