29 schools. 20 days. One fight against hunger.

Campus Kitchens chapters across the nation are taking to the (virtual) court for March Matchness.

The competitive fundraising event is a chance to show off your school pride, and make an impact in your community.

For the next 20 days, your support can help us sustain Campus Kitchens for 2011. Over the next 10 days, the kitchens who raise the most money will move on to the Final Four to be eligible for an additional 10% of the funds you raise from CKP National.

 

The Campus Kitchen at the University of Florida is a completely student run organization which collects food from local dining halls and restaurants and redistributes it to low-income Gainesville residents. In 2009, the poverty level in Gainesville was 32.3%. 

CKUF seeks to aid those in poverty by delivering meals to:
    - Lakeforest Elementary School
    - Pine Meadows Community Center
    - Pleasant Place, Inc. (a home for pregnant and abused teenage girls)
    - The Boys and Girls Club at Woodland Park
    - Porters Community Center

In Fall 2010 alone, we recovered a total of 998.1 pounds of food and made 1446 meals! 

Your donation, whether large or small, can be a part of a larger picture to help the Gainesville community. 

During the next ten days, help us move on to the next round by donating even just the equivalent of a gallon of gas or milk! Any contribution is greatly appreciated and will go directly to serve the residents of Gainesville.
